180LA agency created an ad for travel booking site Expedia, in which one meaningful life story is told in one minute. It highlights the importance of experiencing different cultures, overcoming prejudices and influencing “some narrow minds”. And it`s absolutely amazing!

While the world has been waiting for hot details on inauguration of Trump, travel agency Expedia jumped at the opportunity to deliver a wise message and promote their services alongside. Viewers could see the ad during CNN’s coverage of the Presidential Inauguration. In anticipation of this political event, most of the brands laid low. The atmosphere around this event was somewhat ambiguous, after all.  Nevertheless, Expedia and 180LA decided to ease tension and remind the viewers about urgent things, such as unity, tolerance and open-mindedness. And what is far more important – the necessity of remaining a human being in any situation.

This video definitely makes goosebumps. We are inclined to think that it will produce the same effect on every human being, regardless of his nationality, country of origin, skin color or personal beliefs. The ad touches upon moral universals that can be understood in any century and in any place in the planet. Especially today, when everyone tends to forget what is truly worth pursuing. “You’ll narrowly influence some narrow minds,” – the man from the video says. We broaden our minds and change the whole world, experiencing other cultures.

These guys succeeded to tell 60-years story in 60 seconds! One minute – exactly that right amount of time that holds the viewers` attention. The story has it all, starting from first childhood adventures to rescue of the refugees.

What is the key?

It begins with a dialogue between the young redhead woman with an older man in train, at the Trans-Siberian Railway. The woman asks, whether it is important to travel and explore. As he answers, the whole life of the woman begins to flash on the screen. Her explorer experience starts from peeking over her neighbor’s fence. Curiosity and desire for adventure lead her to “what`s waiting on the other side” of the fence –an amazing world with diverse cultures. As she grows older and turns into the young beautiful woman. She opens her heart and mind to such exciting experiences like kissing an Asian man under the rain on the streets of his hometown. However, traveling is not only about fun. Further, we see her helping refugees as a volunteer and taking part in a protest against injustice.

“You`ll bridge continents. And keep peace”, – the voiceover says. Here she appears on the screen again with another woman, wearing a headscarf in India and harvesting exotic fruit somewhere in Africa. At every point of her journey, she interacts with people from different cultures. Lastly, she is sitting in the train again, but much older. She answers the same question, asked by a young fellow passenger.“What is the key? It`s you” – she smiles.
